Style Spotlight: Victorian

Do you feel like getting fancy? Try incorporating some Victorian style into your decor! The character and craftsman qualities offered by the Victorian era are hard to come by in most modern standards, yet they offer a certain timelessness.

The Victorian era is named after Queen Victoria, who was the Queen of England from 1837-1901. This style is known for it's excessive ornamentation, and lots of decoration in each room of the home. Powder blue, purple, deep red, and gold colors were often used.

Colors were said to have been used to represent the mood of the room, reflecting what it was used for. A wide variety of furniture was used that drew from previous styles, like Rococo, and Gothic.
